Intellectual property is the creativity produced from human thought processes to meet human needs and welfare. Human creativity, which emerges as an intellectual asset, has long had a significant impact on human civilization, among others through inventions and works in the fields of art and literature (Roisah, 2014).

A person's creativity can be based on adaptive patterns to human needs in aligning with nature and its environment. The results of human thought and creativity produce works that are beneficial and needed by a civilization. In the past, technological developments were not recorded and documented, leading to a lack of recognition; however, as human civilization has evolved, it has become necessary to communicate efforts for recognition and appreciation of these works.

The law regarding intellectual property rights ultimately provides protection for works and cultural products that will encourage individuals to continuously explore ideas, concepts, and thoughts in producing them in forms that are beneficial for the development of human civilization. The Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) legal system is unable to comprehensively protect Traditional Cultural Expressions (TCE) due to the differing characteristics between IPR and TCE. IPR concepts must be manifested in tangible expressions (in material form) that can be seen and heard, whereas TCE concepts are not always in tangible expressions; they can be in verbal/oral expressions and the results of ideas in the form of artistic works and knowledge as well as specific techniques rooted in ancestral traditions. The IPR system is based on individualistic and monopolistic values, while TCE is based on communal and spiritual values.

In this era of convenience, we have increasingly broad access to submit works and obtain protection and recognition for the creativity produced. These works, including cultural products and values, can be protected thanks to the presence of the Ministry of Culture through the Directorate of Cultural Value Empowerment and Intellectual Property Protection.

The Directorate of Cultural Value Empowerment and Intellectual Property Facilitation has the task of preparing the formulation and implementation of policies in the field of cultural value empowerment and intellectual property facilitation. The emergence of this directorate is a breath of fresh air for creative practitioners in the cultural field. Recognition and protection for cultural practitioners are guaranteed and facilitated so they can focus on activities in the preservation, development, and utilization of culture. Through the Directorate of Cultural Value Empowerment and Intellectual Property Protection, TCE receives its own space and becomes a topic of discussion in the protection of intellectual property.

So, what is the role of Indonesiana TV in protecting intellectual property rights in the cultural field? The Cultural Channel of IndonesianaTV aims to preserve and promote Indonesia's diverse culture to the wider community, both domestically and internationally, through the airing of programs that highlight various aspects of Indonesian culture, such as arts, customs, traditions, and history.

The IndonesianaTV Cultural Channel seeks to enhance public knowledge and awareness of Indonesian culture through the airing of educational and informative programs that are packaged attractively and are easy to understand for all audiences. On the other hand, the existence of Indonesiana.TV serves as a form of protection for documented and digitized cultural products through its content. What past creators did not have, current creators can use Indonesiana.TV as a storage space for their works that can be enjoyed on a wide scale.

The content of Indonesiana.TV serves as a safe space as well as a sharing space that can become a medium for encounters between creators and consumers of cultural works. With a very broad reach, Indonesiana.TV can strengthen the presence of the intellectual works of cultural creators. The evidence of audiovisual recordings in the form of digital content it possesses establishes IndonesianaTV as the spearhead of the government in expanding the reach of cultural works.
