Citra Award FFI 2024: Celebrating the Supremacy of Indonesian Cinema

TANGERANG - The peak night of the Citra Award Festival Film Indonesia (FFI) 2024, the highest film award event in the country, took place grandly on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at ICE BSD, Tangerang. This 44th FFI carries the theme "Marking the Horizon of Indonesian Cinema", which reflects the spirit of exploration and development in the national film industry. This theme embodies a collective effort to continue pushing the boundaries of creativity while strengthening the position of Indonesian cinema on the global stage.
The Minister of Culture, Fadli Zon, highlighted the importance of a legal foundation in supporting the Indonesian film ecosystem. "Law No. 5 of 2017 on Cultural Advancement serves as an important foundation. It develops the noble values of the nation's culture, reinforces national identity, and strengthens unity," he explained.
Additionally, he emphasized the role of Law No. 33 of 2009 on Film. According to him, this law not only protects but also encourages Indonesian cinema to compete at the international level.
