Oath Taking Ceremony for Civil Servants of the Ministry of Culture Strengthens ASN Integrity Commitment

Jakarta, July 2, 2026 – The Ministry of Culture held an Oath/Promise Taking Ceremony for Civil Servants (PNS) led by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Culture, Prof. Dr. Bambang Wibawarta, S.S., M.A. The event took place both in-person and online, involving employees who have officially been appointed as Civil Servants within the Ministry of Culture.

The series of events began with the recitation of the oath or promise according to the religion and beliefs of each participant. On this occasion, the Secretary General emphasized that the oath taken is not merely a ceremonial part but also a form of responsibility to God Almighty, the nation, the state, and society.

Through this oath, the civil servants declared their willingness to uphold Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, the state, and the government. They also committed to adhering to all legal regulations, performing their duties with high dedication, maintaining honor as civil servants, prioritizing the interests of the nation and state, safeguarding confidentiality, and working honestly, orderly, meticulously, and responsibly for the interests of the country.

After the oath-taking ceremony concluded, the event continued with the signing of the minutes by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Culture. This signing was witnessed by the Head of the Bureau of State Property, Procurement of Goods and Services, and the Secretary of the Directorate General of Cultural Protection and Tradition.

In his speech, the Secretary General officially confirmed the employees who have met all the requirements to be appointed as Civil Servants within the Ministry of Culture. He expressed appreciation while reminding that the new status as a civil servant marks the beginning of greater responsibilities in serving the nation and state.

"This moment is not just a change in employment status, but an important milestone in the journey of serving the nation and state. The oath you have just taken is not merely an administrative formality, but a moral, ethical, and legal commitment to carry out your duties with full integrity, professionalism, and responsibility," said Prof. Dr. Bambang Wibawarta, S.S., M.A., as the Secretary General of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia.

Furthermore, he emphasized that every Civil Servant must possess strong character, uphold integrity, be able to adapt to various changes, work collaboratively, and provide optimal public service. According to him, the fundamental values of ASN BerAKHLAK need to be consistently applied in every task execution and decision-making process.

The Secretary General also highlighted the important role of ASN in the Ministry of Culture in supporting national cultural development. He stated that the personnel of the Ministry of Culture not only perform administrative functions but also act as drivers of civilization through efforts in managing, preserving, and developing culture as the foundation for national development.

He added that the implementation of ASN duties in the Ministry of Culture must be based on four pillars of cultural policy, namely culture as an economic driver, culture as soft power, culture as a medium for internalizing educational values, and culture as binding power or a unifying force for the nation.

"We are the architects of civilization. We are the managers and the voices of culture from all corners of the country into state policy. Therefore, I hope you become part of an organization that continues to transform, has a lifelong learning spirit, is open to innovation, and can make real contributions according to your respective duties and functions," he stated.

In closing his remarks, the Secretary General urged all newly appointed civil servants to uphold the trust given through the application of discipline, ethics, professionalism, and a spirit of serving the community. He also hoped that all ASN could build a work culture that respects one another, supports each other, is results-oriented, and provides a positive impact on society and the advancement of national culture.

"Congratulations to all Civil Servants who are officially appointed today. May you always be granted strength, health, and ease in carrying out the mandate as state servants and community servants. Let us together build a governance system in the field of culture that is increasingly professional, accountable, innovative, and capable of making the best contributions to the advancement of Indonesian culture," he concluded.
