Inauguration and Signing of the Integrity Pact for the Development of the Integrity Zone at the Cultural Media Center
The Cultural Media Center of the Ministry of Culture held the inauguration of the Integrity Zone development program towards a Corruption-Free Area/Clean and Serving Bureaucracy (WBK/WBBM) on Thursday (8/5) at the Aston Sentul Lake Resort & Conference Center. As a newly established work unit at the end of 2022, the Cultural Media Center needs to organize itself and seek an ideal form in carrying out its duties and functions. In line with Bureaucratic Reform, the Cultural Media Center hopes to contribute to organizing itself and succeeding in realizing the Integrity Zone - Corruption-Free Area/Clean and Serving Bureaucracy (WBK/WBBM).
The inauguration event was attended by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Culture, the Inspector General of the Ministry of Culture, the Special Staff of the Minister for Media and Public Communication, the Director General of Development, Utilization, and Cultural Guidance, the Secretary of the Directorate General of Development, Utilization, and Cultural Guidance, the Inspector II of the Ministry of Culture, the Head of the Bureau of Public Relations and Public Information, officials within the Directorate General of Development, Utilization, and Cultural Guidance, and employees of the Cultural Media Center.
In his report, the Head of the Cultural Media Center, Abu Chanifah, S.H., M.M., stated that the advancement of culture is one of the major challenges in the era of rapid technological and communication development, leading to digital transformation in a completely new world. Therefore, this challenge must be addressed by the Cultural Media Center to further enhance its performance. The Cultural Media Center carries out tasks for the production of cultural media, the utilization of cultural media, partnerships in the management of cultural media, and the publication and promotion of cultural media content.
Bureaucratic Reform is one of the initial steps to support programs aimed at organizing a clean, effective, and efficient government system, while still providing fast, accurate, and professional services, and must be clean and free from corruption, collusion, and nepotism, as well as improving excellent service for the community and increasing the accountability of government agencies. Abu Chanifah hopes that this inauguration will further enhance services for the community.
At the inauguration event, which started at 20:00 WIB, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Culture, Prof. Bambang Wibawarta, S.S., M.A., provided direction. He stated that the government continues to promote reform with the principle of good government. A tangible manifestation of this is that the Ministry of Culture fully supports Bureaucratic Reform, the Integrity Zone of the Corruption-Free Area/Clean and Serving Bureaucracy (WBK/WBBM).
The inauguration as an Integrity Zone towards WBK/WBBM is both a pride and a challenge in maintaining the credibility of the institution. The commitment to become an integrity zone will mean nothing without support from stakeholders, as stakeholders play an important role in helping to oversee and monitor the Cultural Media Center in providing services in managing state assets.
The integrity zone is a title or designation given to government ministries and agencies that have the intention or commitment to realize WBK/WBBM through efforts to prevent corruption, bureaucratic reform, and improve the quality of public services. To realize the development of the integrity zone towards a Corruption-Free Area and a Clean and Serving Bureaucracy (ZI WBK/WBBM), it must meet the established indicator standards. The Cultural Media Center, which is still in its early stages but has a consistent commitment to sign the Integrity Pact. In closing, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Culture will oversee every aspect that may require assistance to realize the ZI - WBK.
In line with this, the Director General of Development, Utilization, and Cultural Development, Ahmad Mahendra, M. Tr. A.P, emphasized the need for strengthening human resources in order to realize the Integrity Zone of the Corruption-Free Area. The joint commitment of the Cultural Media Center staff will determine the success of these efforts and plans. The staff of the Cultural Media Center, who serve as cultural stakeholders, have a heavy but noble task to provide excellent services to the community. A precise and targeted strategy is needed to implement service patterns that align with Bureaucratic Reform. Ahmad Mahendra, M. Tr.A.P, in closing his remarks, quoted a statement from our founding father, Drs. Moh Hatta, that "no great culture grows from corrupt soil. True culture must be built on honesty and responsibility.
The Inspector General of the Ministry of Culture, in his direction on the Development of the Integrity Zone, stated that the Integrity Zone is not merely a title but the process of building the ZI WBK certainly requires a high commitment from all levels of the Cultural Media Center, from leadership to the front line of services. The Cultural Media Center needs to pay close attention to the leverage components and results. Innovations in public services also need to be a focus. There are at least three important aspects that must be fulfilled, namely how to improve the quality of service performance of the Cultural Media Center, strengthen the roles of actors involved in building the Integrity Zone, and the results of the Integrity Zone development that directly impact the stakeholders of the Cultural Media Center.
The inauguration of the ZI – WBK was concluded with a symbolic signing of the Integrity Pact conducted by the Head of the Cultural Media Center, Abu Chanifah, S.H., M.M., the Head of the General Subdivision of the Cultural Media Center, Neneng Kartiwi, S.S., followed by all employees of the Cultural Media Center.
