Open Call Layar Anak Indonesiana 2024 Has Entered the Film Production Stage

JAKARTA - The Open Call Layar Anak Indonesiana (LAI) 2024 has entered the Technical Guidance Stage II: Production and Administration Preparation, which takes place from July 30 to August 2 at the Mercure Cikini Hotel, Menteng, Central Jakarta. This program is under the auspices of the Cultural Media Center as part of the Cultural Advancement Object (OPK) strategy.

The Head of the Creation, Production, and Content Acquisition Cooperation Division of IndonesianaTV, Chandra S. Endoputro, expressed his hope that many filmmakers from various regions in Indonesia can express themselves and participate in cultural advancement through audio-visual works.

"Why children? Actually, there are very few shows for children, and we believe they are the next generation. Therefore, it feels like the dissemination of cultural advancement information should also have a concern for children," explained Chandra.

Chandra also emphasized the importance of the memories formed from these shows for children's future regarding Indonesian culture.

"The quality of the film must be good, must be inspiring, must make children feel this is my film, this is my generation, this tells about me," he added.

Meanwhile, Producer and Screenwriter of the Children's Documentary Film "Sendang Pertiwi", Tafsi, expressed his gratitude to the Cultural Media Center for the funding support that enabled the making of the documentary. Tafsi explained the importance of this film in educating about the conservation of the Sendang Beci spring in Dusun Kudugan, Semin, Gunung Kidul.

"We hope this film can inspire both children and adults who accompany their children to watch to foster awareness of caring for the springs around us and also to respect them," hoped Tafsi, who is part of the Matahati Adab Nusantara Group.

Furthermore, Tafsi emphasized the importance of government support in children's film production. He expressed his hope that the government would provide more funding for film production, especially for children's screenings. We realize that our children's viewing options are limited.

On the other hand, a representative from the Dreamsky Film Group, Wildan, also shared his positive experience during this technical guidance. "I'm really happy to participate in this BIMTEK. It's so much fun to meet extraordinary people," said Wildan.

He also highlighted the challenges in producing his film and thanked the many insights gained from the mentors.

"I truly feel that the impact of the government's attention to us, the filmmakers from the regions, is extraordinary," he added.

This technical guidance program is expected to help Indonesian filmmakers improve the quality of children's film production, so that it can spread inspiring and educational cultural messages to the younger generation.

After going through this Stage II, the participants will enter the film production stage which will last until September 2024.[*]
