Ministry of Education and Culture Wins CNN Indonesia Award Jatim 2024: Highlights Intur 2024 Achievements
SURABAYA – The Directorate of Film, Music, and Media, Directorate General of Culture, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) received recognition from the CNN Indonesia Awards 2024 in the category of Outstanding in Indonesian Art and Culture Advancement. This award acknowledges Kemendikbudristek's contributions to advancing and preserving Indonesian art and culture through various inclusive programs, one of which is Indonesia Bertutur.
The award was presented directly to the Director of Film, Music, and Media of Kemendikbudristek, Ahmad Mahendra, during the event held in Surabaya, East Java, on Wednesday, September 25, 2024.
In his speech, Ahmad Mahendra expressed his pride in the success of the Indonesia Bertutur 2024 program, which is considered to have a significant impact on increasing cultural knowledge among the younger generation. He emphasized that the CNN Indonesia Awards Jatim 2024 will serve as motivation to continue improving performance in the field of culture.
"The award from CNN Indonesia Awards 2024 serves as a catalyst for the Directorate of Film, Music, and Media to continue developing more massive cultural advancement programs. Programs like Indonesia Bertutur are a manifestation of our commitment to advancing culture, so that society can better understand the importance of cultural values in everyday life," said Mahendra.
He also stressed that efforts to promote culture must not stop. Kemendikbudristek is committed to continuing and expanding programs that have proven to have a positive impact on society.
Mahendra added that the government will continue to support various cultural programs that can encourage community creativity. With this step, culture is expected to become one of the pillars of national strength that enriches the life of the nation and state.
One of the flagship programs recognized through this award is Indonesia Bertutur, a mega cultural festival aimed at exploring and preserving the values of the nation's cultural heritage through various mediums such as film, music, media, and performing arts. In 2024, Indonesia Bertutur carries the theme "Subak: Together Towards Harmony," and is held in three locations: Batubulan, Ubud, and Nusa Dua, Bali, from August 7 to 18, 2024.
The festival features more than 100 works involving 900 cultural practitioners from both domestic and international backgrounds, with a total of 30,609 visitors. Through this event, the Directorate of Film, Music, and Media of Kemendikbudristek successfully inspired and enriched the cultural wealth of Indonesia.[*]
