Pencetakan produksi buku-buku membutuhkan bahan mentah bubur kertas yang berasal dari kayu pohon jati. Industri kertas global terus berkembang dengan pesat seiring dengan meningkatnya kebutuhan akan dokumentasi dan media cetak. Namun, proses pembuatan kertas yang konvensional sering kali menimbulkan dampak negatif terhadap lingkungan (Nurmalasari & Mardikaningsih dalam Jannah dkk, 2025). Kebutuhan kertas akan terus meningkat seiring dengan peningkatan pendidikan, bisnis, dan administrasi. Pembuatan kertas biasa sering menggunakan kayu jati, yang menyebabkan kerusakan lingkungan. Kemajuan dalam komponen kertas yang tidak dihaluskan sangatlah penting untuk mengatasi masalah ini (Gunawan & Wijaya dalam Jannah dkk, 2025). Daun jati (Tectona grandis), yang tumbuh di banyak wilayah tropis, merupakan alternatif yang menguntungkan. Daun jati yang telah dikeringkan dan tidak digunakan dapat diproses menjadi kertas, sehingga menciptakan lingkungan yang aman dan mudah terawat (Fitriana & Lestari dalam Jannah, 2025). Dengan memanfaatkan daun jati sebagai bahan baku kertas, kita dapat mengurangi ketergantungan pada sumber daya alam yang semakin terbatas. Perkembangan media kebudayaan yang semakin pesat sejalan dengan kemajuan teknologi mendorong perlu adanya pengalihwahanaan sumber pustaka berupa buku-buku menjadi bentuk digital dan audiovisual. Sejalan dengan yang diamanatkan UU Pemajuan Kebudayaan, maka akses publik terhadap sumber pengetahuan seputar kebudayaan Indonesia yang dapat dipercaya, kredibel serta dibuat dengan kearifan pemikiran menjadi hal yang mutlak. The printing of books requires raw materials such as pulp derived from teak wood. The global paper industry continues to grow rapidly alongside the increasing demand for documentation and printed media.
