In September 2021, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, through the Directorate of Film, Music, and Media, launched a cable television network and website called Indonesiana.TV. Indonesiana.TV is an omnichannel media platform that publishes knowledge and public information about the living culture in Indonesia, which is expected to contribute to building a cultural ecosystem that unites the Indonesian nation in diversity, joy, openness, and equality.

The Indonesian Cultural Channel or INDONESIANA.TV is the main program of the Cultural Media Center, which then carries out its duties and functions as a media channel for publication, broadcasting, and communication that is mutually integrated, namely: website, social media, as well as television channels on cable networks, video on demand (VOD) applications, and terrestrial/free to air (FTA). Through various media channels that operate integratively, the audience reach from various age groups, especially the youth and lovers of Indonesian culture in various regions can be more targeted and massive.

The position of the digital cultural channel as a medium for expressing cultural activities is increasingly needed by both the Indonesian people and culture enthusiasts around the world. The digital cultural channel also plays a strategic role in the process of Indonesia's cultural diplomacy to the international community. Therefore, the position of cultural channels in the form of digital media has a significant role in cultural consolidation efforts. The main challenge in managing cultural media channels is the standardization of quality in terms of production, broadcasting, and the protection of intellectual property rights of content. All of this requires individual skills, team managerial abilities, understanding of legal aspects, and the ability to adapt to the ever-evolving digital technology infrastructure. The channel Indonesiana.TV can serve as an official database of Indonesian culture, the benefits of which can be a credible source not only for the government, cultural managers, and society today, but far beyond that, it can become a legacy of intellectual data enjoyed by future generations.

In the context of preserving and documenting the history and culture of Indonesia, the Cultural Media Center of the Ministry of Culture through the Indonesiana TV platform becomes a showcase of this nation's civilization so that in the international community, our cultural showcase becomes a medium of diplomacy that can prove the greatness and diversity of our culture. The Indonesiana TV channel is an effort to affirm the reality that Indonesia must be considered as one of the world civilizations that deserves to be elevated and recognized by the world.

Life today in the era of globalization has blurred the boundaries of space and time, including territorial boundaries. Access to information and the rapid development of information technology make it easier for us to obtain information from other parts of the world. Likewise, in the cultural sector, we can easily imitate what is currently trending, which can ultimately be applied in daily life. This condition makes it increasingly difficult for us to know the original Indonesian culture that originates from regional cultures. It is ironic if, in the end, the extinction of a culture occurs due to our negligence in preserving the cultural heritage we possess.

The existence of Indonesiana TV is like a beacon of light that can reach not only the Indonesian people but also the Indonesian diaspora scattered all over the world who long for their homeland but find it difficult to come back directly to their place of origin. Indonesiana TV can also reach the descendants of the diaspora who have lived for decades and have settled in their new countries and want to convey where their cultural roots come from and learn more about the culture of their homeland. The Indonesian diaspora from various generations can still access the nobility of their homeland's culture by accessing this Indonesiana TV Channel. The Indonesian diaspora that is scattered and has settled for a long time in various countries is divided into two types. Some still hold Indonesian citizenship, while others have changed their citizenship.

The Cultural Media Center of the Ministry of Culture tries to read the needs of the community. The existence of Indonesiana TV is expected to reduce the spatial and temporal distance between communities that are still in the same cultural environment and those who have been distanced from their cultural origins. We certainly believe that cultural diplomacy also needs agents spread throughout the world, as they are the true front line that indirectly maintains the spirit of Indonesian-ness amidst the new cultures that confront them daily.

Indonesiana TV, as an implementation of the Cultural Advancement Law, is evidence of the government's presence in an ecosystem of preservation, development, and utilization of cultural advancement objects. The cultural content presented offers another way to learn about the history of Indonesian culture. The various forms of cultural history shows it possesses aim to be consumed as entertainment and guidance for the noble purpose of making Indonesian culture global.

The presence of the Cultural Media Center along with Indonesiana TV at the CHANDI 2025 event on September 2 - 5, 2025, in Bali serves as a testament that the birth of Indonesiana TV is in line with the extension of CHANDI (Culture, Heritage, Art, Narrative, Diplomacy, & Innovation). The activities carried out during the series of events are not merely an introduction to the existence of Indonesiana TV, but further than that, at the age of four, Indonesiana TV can be seen as a form of success in implementing the Cultural Advancement Law. The stage gathering cultural policy makers from delegations of various countries is a source of pride for the Ministry of Culture, which has a working unit that focuses on producing cultural content as a tool for Indonesia's diplomacy in the international arena. The participation of the Cultural Media Center along with Indonesiana TV reinforces the organization of CHANDI as a showcase of a cultural ecosystem, as all the elements that enliven the cultural world participate in the same space and time.
