TANGERANG - The Cultural Media Center, which manages the cultural channel Indonesiana.TV, participates in the Indonesia Anime Con (INACON) 2024 held on June 15-16, 2024, at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE), BSD, South Tangerang, Banten. This event serves as an important momentum for Indonesiana.TV to introduce and promote locally created intellectual property (IP) to a broader audience.

As part of its commitment to support and advance the creative industry in Indonesia, the Cultural Media Center views INACON 2024 as a strategic platform to showcase the best works from local IP creators. It is hoped that through this participation, collaboration among local creators can be strengthened and local IP can become more recognized at both national and international levels.

INACON 2024 is one of the largest events that combines various elements of pop culture such as anime, manga, video games, and cosplay. This event becomes a paradise for creators, gamers, collectors, cosplayers, and everyone who loves the world of pop culture. By presenting various exciting activities, INACON 2024 becomes the right place to build relationships and share inspiration for anime fans.

Animation Film Director Rana Uko, Daryl Wilson, expressed his enthusiasm for the event, especially regarding the participation of Indonesiana.TV, which actively introduces and promotes local IP creators.

"Through synergy and collaboration, we can create an ecosystem that supports the sustainability of local culture," he explained during an interview at INACON 2024 on Saturday, June 15, 2024.

He also expressed his hope that through INACON 2024, local IP, as developed by him and his team, can become more recognized and enjoyed by the wider community. He also shared his experience collaborating with Indonesiana.TV (under the management and ownership of the Cultural Media Center), which fully supported and facilitated the production process of the Animated Film "Rana Uko." "For a full year, we worked to create a show that is entertaining and rich in history and culture," he concluded.

In line with Daryl, IP Creator of the Cultural Animation Series Ako and Laut, Tessar Wardhana, added that with technological support, it would certainly be easier to introduce local culture to the international stage.

"Initiatives like Indonesiana.TV and the open call program they conduct provide space for creators to innovate and elevate Indonesian culture," he said on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at INACON 2024.

Tessar added that INACON 2024 provides a large stage for animation and local IP to "showcase" their best works. For him, Indonesiana.TV has provided an excellent platform for creators to create and collaborate.

"Through Indonesiana.TV, we can spread the values of culture and creativity of the nation’s children throughout Indonesia and even the world. I hope that more local IP can be born and developed through this event," he said.

Tessar continued, stating that Indonesian local culture is known to be strong, original, and has its own uniqueness. With modern touches and advanced technology, this cultural content can highlight diversity and uphold inclusivity, as well as represent various local cultures.

As seen in the animation series Ako and Laut created by Tessar Wardhana and friends. Tessar shared about the many local wisdoms and cultural values highlighted in the animation, particularly from Maluku culture. "In the Ako and Laut series, we raise the tradition of 'Laor', which is an ancestral teaching to maintain the sustainability of the sea and the cleanliness of the sea water by not throwing garbage into the Maluku sea," he concluded.

Participation of Indonesiana.TV in Inacon 2024

Indonesiana.TV itself is a cultural channel dedicated to showcasing various Indonesian cultural content, ranging from traditional arts to modern creative works. By participating in INACON 2024, Indonesiana.TV hopes to further introduce the richness of Indonesian culture packaged in the form of animation and other creative IP to the younger generation and pop culture enthusiasts.

The presence of the Cultural Media Center at INACON 2024 is also expected to open opportunities for cross-sector collaboration between local IP creators and various parties, especially in the creative industry. Thus, the creative ecosystem in Indonesia can grow more dynamically and sustainably.

Through INACON 2024, the Cultural Media Center and Indonesiana.TV hope to continue supporting and inspiring local IP creators to create and innovate, so that more works from the nation’s children can be proud of and enjoyed by the community. Let us support and witness together the rise of local IP in Indonesia.[*]
